EMERALD is a green variety of Beryl, a berylium aluminum silicate mineral with a hexagonal crystal system and a hardness of 75 to 8. Emeralds have been found in Colombia, Brazil, Russia and Africa. Emerald is the purest crystalline emanation of the Green Ray, and it is the stone which most purely represents the energy patterns of the activated heart chakra.
